The LoveBug Bites Hard

On August 12, 2017, I celebrate 11 months of my new healthy lifestyle and nearly two months of maintaining my weight at between 75-80 pounds lost since September 12, 2016. I still work out at Fit Body Boot Camp six times per week and I continue to follow their recommended daily meal plan outline except I am eating more to keep from losing too much weight. However, I felt like I could do more to ensure optimal health. Enter LoveBug Probiotics.

The past couple of years, I have had challenges with regard to my gut health. In both June 2016 and June 2017, I became ill twice each month with a “stomach virus”. It was that double whammy in June 2016 which was one of the first steps towards committing to a complete wellness lifestyle. I started by adding Greek yogurt to my diet for the probiotics and protein. I also tried probiotics in capsule form that I picked up at my local pharmacy, but I didn’t yet know about LoveBug.

When LoveBug Probiotics co-founder Ashley Harris contacted me a few months ago about trying their products, the timing could not have been better. The samples arrived after my most recent bouts with “stomach flu”. I started taking Here’s the Skinny on July 1 and later during the month, Yeast is a Beast. She had advised me to allow my body to get used to the first before I added additional probiotics.

The LoveBug story captured my attention first. The company is based in New York City, is family owned, and the probiotics are made in the United States. Harris and her son, Hudson, both became sick due to antibiotics that were prescribed during Hudson’s birth. She discovered the cause was due to unbalanced gut bacteria. Her husband, co-founder Ben Harris, also had a similar imbalance. This experience led to the development of their own line of probiotics. What differentiates LoveBug from other probiotics is that they are 15 times more effective because they are formulated to be more resilient to stomach acid and deliver more probiotic organisms to the lower digestive tract, which creates a healthier, more balanced gut.

After my 30-day trial, the go-to LoveBug probiotic for me is Here’s the Skinny. Adding it to my daily workout and meal plan has assisted me in maintaining overall wellness and well being.  The advantages to balanced gut health include improved digestion, higher metabolism, more energy, and better mood. Within a week, I felt better than I had before I started. In fact, I felt so good that I ordered three more bottles of Here’s the Skinny before I finished my trial. The first improvement I noticed was my digestion. I am more regular, if you will, and no longer feel bloated. Secondly, my metabolism is through the roof. I feel hunger more intensely and frequently, so I consume more healthy calories throughout the day. Thirdly, I don’t ever recall having as much energy as I have now. I have a desk job and I have to get up many times during the day to move around. I can no longer sit still for long periods of time. Lastly, I feel positive and happy most of the time. Life has its challenges, of course, but generally, I’ve never been as happy as I am now, thanks to the trifecta: fitness, diet, and the addition of LoveBug Probiotics.

The other probiotic I tried, Yeast is a Beast, is one I recommend to women who are prone to urinary tract and yeast infections. Its combination of Lactobacillus strains and cranberry extract is designed to keep such infections at bay. Thankfully, this isn’t me, but if this were to change, I would add this to my daily regime.

I also have a sample of Colds Suck that I plan to try later this year during the fall and winter cold and flu season.

LoveBug’s probiotic options are targeted towards different audiences. For example, they also make Tiny Tummies for babies, Little Ones for children, and Labor of Love for expectant mothers, in addition to the aforementioned Here’s the SkinnyYeast is a Beast, and Colds Suck. You may take more than one probiotic supplement daily once you have gotten used to taking one.

A final advantage to LoveBug Probiotics is that they are readily accessible. You may subscribe on their website beginning with a free trial. You will also find their products at retailers such as Amazon, Target, The Vitamin Shoppe, and Wegmans.
